Russian forces suffered a record 42,860 personnel casualties in July, the highest monthly figure recorded since the beginning of the year.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
President Volodymyr Zelensky specified in his address that 30,272 of those troops were lost to drone attacks.
The best results were recorded by the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “A.”
The General Staff provided personnel loss figures for the first seven months of the year, showing a steady increase in Russian personnel losses.
The only decline occurred in February, likely due to worsening weather conditions for drone operations and a decrease in the intensity of Russian offensive operations:
In the first seven months of 2026, Russian personnel losses, including both wounded and killed, totaled 238,650.
July was also marked by a high intensity of combat operations.
According to the General Staff, 7,922 combat engagements were recorded last month.
This amounts to more than 250 engagements per day on average. By comparison, 7,316 combat engagements were recorded in June.
It was previously reported that in January, one of Ukraine’s strategic objectives was to eliminate 50,000 Russian troops per month.
