Antonov will supply the State Emergency Service of Ukraine an An-32P firefighting aircraft for 470 million hryvnias, reports Militarnyi.

It will be an An-32B aircraft with serial number №36-04 produced in 2010 for Iraq.

According to the tender documentation the An-32P must be equipped with:

AI-20D series 5E engines;
TG-16М auxiliary power unit;
set of operating documentation;
a single set of ground handling equipment, tools and spare parts.

This particular aircraft was offered by Antonov for 2019 tender, at a price of UAH 480,000,000.

In 2011, the Iraq rejected this aircraft An-32B with serial number №36-04 due to the production of the undercarriage before 2009, when an agreement was signed to purchase aircraft for the Iraqi Air Force.

The point is that according to the contract, new military equipment was to be manufactured after 2009, and for certain reason for the first planes it referred to assembling the airframe, not the production of individual aircraft units, but with the latest military preparations by Iraq, the terms and conditions have changed and 36-04 was never adopted and remained the property of the aircraft plant.

To meet the conditions in the tender documentation states the following:
The year of manufacture of the aircraft is not earlier than 2008. Units of own production can be used during assembling of the aircraft (fuselage, center wing section, wing, tail, etc.) and purchased components that were produced earlier.

The aircraft must have the following resource indicators:

assigned resource / service life – not less than 16000 hours / 8000 landings / 40 years (service life is achieved individually and in stages);
resource / service life before the first repair (overhaul) – not less than 4000 hours / 3000 flights, of which 1500 flights for firefighting / 5 years
The An-32P aircraft is designated as a special purpose transport aircraft and is intended for extinguishing forest fires, transportation and landing of firefighters and special cargo needed to extinguish fires.

Financing is provided through loans under state guarantees for the implementation of the Program to increase the state’s defense capabilities and security in terms of equipping the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with modern aircraft. The loan maturity period is 37 months. The lead time for delivery of goods, works or services is December 31, 2024.
