In Novomoskovsk, the Tula region, a driver was killed in a car explosion. According to unconfirmed reports, he may have been a participant in the war against Ukraine.

The incident occurred on the morning of October 2 on Druzhby Street. According to local residents, the car exploded while moving, after which it traveled a certain distance by inertia and crashed into a pole.
Novomoskovsk is home to participants in the war against Ukraine who served in the Russian Armed Forces and the Wagner Group. The 16th Separate Guards Order of Zhukov Spetsnaz Brigade is also located near the city. According to the Russian publication VChK-OGPU, an explosive device may have been planted under the car’s underbody on the driver’s side.
Footage from eyewitnesses shows security forces, including members of the Russian National Guard. In comments on the Podslushano Novomoskovsk community, users report that the road has been blocked off and that forensic investigators and military personnel are on the scene.
One commenter claims there was a hole in the underbody beneath the driver’s seat. Meanwhile, others speculate that gas exploded inside the car. The cause of the explosion, the identity of the deceased, and his possible involvement in the war have not been officially confirmed. Emergency services did not report the incident.
As a reminder, on August 27, 2026, in St. Petersburg, a car belonging to a lieutenant colonel of the Russian Aerospace Forces was blown up. The military officer was killed, and his wife was admitted to the intensive care unit. According to preliminary data, a homemade explosive device detonated inside the car.
