Servicemembers of the 3rd Army Corps have released video showing the crash and wreckage of a Russian Su-35 fighter jet that was shot down on July 8 over the eastern front.

The footage was published on the corps’ social media channels.

The opening moments show the burning aircraft plunging to the ground before crashing, followed by images of its wreckage.

A drone operated by the 3rd Army Corps later flies to the crash site, recording the complete destruction of the aircraft within the corps’ area of responsibility.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced the downing of the Russian Su-35 fighter jet yesterday afternoon.

According to Russian pro-war media channels, the pilot of the downed aircraft managed to eject and survive.

In particular, Russian military blogger Ilya Tumanov, who runs the Fighterbomber Telegram channel, claimed that the Su-35 was allegedly shot down with the involvement of a Patriot air defense system and F-16 fighter jets.

Russian forces use Su-35 fighter jets to escort and protect their bombers as they drop guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions.

The aircraft also patrol near the front line, using their long-range air-to-air missiles to threaten and engage Ukrainian aircraft operating in the area.
