Ukrainian Air Assault Forces have fought off a two-day mechanized assault by Russian forces in the Sloviansk sector, according to the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the 7th Air Assault Corps.

Over several waves of attacks, Russian troops deployed 28 motorcycles, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), seven military vehicles, and more than 50 assault troops.

The brigade reported that the assault was stopped and the attacking force was driven back.

“The enemy attempted to breach the paratroopers’ defensive line, deploy infantry, and seize advantageous positions,” the military said.

Two Russian assault columns advanced simultaneously along different routes: one moved from the village of Platonivka toward Zakitne, while the other advanced from the city of Siversk toward the settlement of Kryva Luka.

Thanks to early detection and well-coordinated defensive action, Ukrainian troops stopped the Russian assault before it reached the first line of defense.

“Overall, the situation remains challenging,” the military said.

Russian forces continue to reinforce their units and have not abandoned efforts to seize more favorable positions. They are using a combination of infiltration tactics and direct assaults involving armored vehicles, military trucks, and motorcycles, all supported by artillery fire, air power, and drones.

The enemy is also attempting to disrupt and control key logistics routes by using remote mining systems and various types of kamikaze drones.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian forces carried out 13 assaults in the Sloviansk sector, targeting areas near Kalenyky and Zakitne, as well as the directions of Riznykivka, Kryva Luka, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched one assault near the city of Chasiv Yar.

Separately, in recent days, Ukraine’s 7th Air Assault Corps and the Ranger Regiment reported destroying a Russian drone-launch network in Pokrovsk.
