Operators of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s Active Operations Department drone units took part in strikes on Russian military logistics along the land corridor connecting occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported the operation and released combat footage on its social media channels.
The video shows kamikaze drones targeting Russian military trucks carrying troops, ammunition, and supplies, as well as fuel tankers and mobile fire teams used by Russian forces.
According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Ukrainian military intelligence drone operators have established fire control over sections of the highway linking the temporarily occupied cities of Berdiansk, Melitopol, and Dzhankoi.
To strike Russian military vehicles deep behind enemy lines, Ukrainian forces are using domestically produced attack drones, including RAM-type UAVs. Several of these drones appear in the footage released by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine said that some of the loitering munitions and Shark-M reconnaissance drones used in the systematic destruction of Russian logistics on the Zaporizhzhia front were supplied through the Jaws project run by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation.
Recently, OSINT analyst Clément Molin said that Ukraine has expanded its campaign against Russian military logistics in southern Ukraine, targeting supply routes up to 150 kilometers behind the front line.
According to him, drone units from several Ukrainian brigades are actively striking fuel tankers, military vehicles, and logistics hubs in the Russian rear.
Despite the distance, Ukrainian drones are successfully hitting Russian forces along key highways linking Russia to occupied Crimea. The strikes are causing supply disruptions for Russian troops, especially in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk regions.
This situation also prompted the head of the occupation administration in the Kherson region to restrict the movement of trucks through occupied areas of the region toward Crimea via the R-280 highway. However, this decision does not apply to military transport vehicles.
The effects of the strikes are also being felt in Crimea, where the occupation authorities in Sevastopol have introduced limits on fuel purchases – up to 20 liters per person.
For these strikes, American fixed-wing attack drones, including the Hornet UAVs, are widely used. The Militarnyi article about these drones is available here.
