The Polish General Staff has banned military personnel from connecting service phones to the infotainment systems of Chinese-made vehicles.

Wojsko Polskie reported on this.

In addition, privately owned Chinese-made vehicles are prohibited from entering military facilities.

The decision comes amid concerns over digital systems in cars that can collect data without control.

This includes photos and videos, audio, and vehicle geolocation.

The Polish military says such data could be exploited for espionage. Work on the new rules began last month.

Vehicles may still be allowed onto protected sites if certain functions are disabled and other security measures are implemented in accordance with site regulations.

The restrictions do not apply to publicly accessible military locations, such as hospitals, clinics, libraries, prosecutors’ offices, or garrison clubs.

Commanders are instructed to provide alternative parking spaces for vehicles with restricted access outside military units whenever possible.

Exceptions include official vehicles and equipment of the armed forces or other state bodies used to carry out assigned tasks.

The statement emphasized that the measures are precautionary and follow practices used by NATO members and other allies to maintain high protection standards for defense infrastructure.

Militarnyi previously reported on how Chinese electric vehicles and devices could pose security risks to Ukraine and Western countries.
