Ukrainian Stugna ATGMs Halt Enemy Assault Near Dibrova

The Ukrainian Stugna anti-tank missile systems played a key role in repelling a Russian assault in the Luhansk region.

According to the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the anti-tank operators successfully destroyed five units of enemy armored vehicles.

The Russian command sent tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to assault near the village of Dibrova.

However, the invaders’ breakthrough to the Ukrainian front lines failed due to the clear coordination of actions and effective use of anti-tank weapons.

“Three tanks and two infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed by the Stugna ATGM in the course of repulsing the enemy attack,” the brigade said.

Russian soldiers were also wounded by the system.

The Stugna-P system is semi-automatic and has a laser beam-guided missile system.

It can fire guided missiles of 130 or 152 mm caliber with various warheads.

The missiles of the system can hit not only tanks but also other equipment and fortifications.

The anti-tank system hits targets at a maximum distance of 5 km and penetrates 800 or 1100 mm of armor, depending on the missile used. The ATGM can be controlled remotely from a safe place using a remote control.

In 2023, it became known that Ukrainian border guards were using high-explosive guided missiles for the Stugna ATGM.

The high-explosive RK-2OF missile has a range of 5,000 meters, can penetrate up to 60 mm of armor, and produces more than 600 blast fragments. The more powerful RK-2M-OF is capable of penetrating up to 120-mm armor and produces more than 1,000 fragments upon detonation.
