The national energy company Ukrenergo has handed over 1155 FPV drones for the needs of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.

This was reported on the company’s official Facebook page.

The transfer took place on December 6, 2024, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of this initiative, not only drones but also initiation boards were transferred.

This support became possible thanks to the cooperation of Ukrenergo with the Come Back Alive Foundation, which actively cooperates with the company.

In total, the company allocated UAH 21 million to purchase this number of drones to support the unit holding the line in the Kursk region.

According to the company, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade has received assistance from Ukrenergo worth UAH 154 million in the form of military equipment, vehicles and weapons.

Today, FPV drones are an important type of weapon on the battlefield. They enable defenders to carry out precision strikes against the enemy at distances of up to 10-20 km, leaving the operator in a shelter or other protected location.

In addition, drones are effectively used to stop enemy offensives, destroying enemy armored personnel carriers and tanks before they even approach military positions.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Vinnytsia community had donated half a thousand FPV drones, electronic warfare equipment and other special equipment to Ukrainian soldiers.

In addition to drone transfers in Ukraine, funds for their purchase are being actively raised abroad. In particular, the Czech Republic has managed to raise more than €8 million for the purchase of FPV drones for the needs of the Ukrainian military in almost a year.

The project was launched last December. The Czechs have already donated a total of over 203 million CZK, although the initial goal was to raise only 100 million (about €4 million).

It is worth noting that, in addition to destroying ground targets, FPV drones have also been used to intercept air targets. They demonstrate high efficiency due to the use of auto-capture units.
