Paratroopers of the 46th Airmobile Brigade repelled three Russian assaults on their positions and destroyed 13 units of Russian military equipment.
They announced this on their Telegram channel.
It happened yesterday, on August 21, 2024, in the Kurakhove sector.
In the first assault, the Russian invaders used one T-90 tank with additional protection and two infantry fighting vehicles.
The defenders used artillery systems: 105-mm L119 cannons provided by our partners and attack drones. First, artillery fire immobilized the equipment, and later, drone operators finished it off.
The second assault involved two assault convoys, each with two tanks and two armored combat vehicles – Russian armored personnel carriers.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of the artillery, ATGM, and FPV units, two armored personnel carriers and two damaged tanks remained on the front line forever. The second convoy retreated under fire,” the brigade stated about the second assault.
In the evening, the Russian invaders engaged three infantry fighting vehicles under the cover of a mortar to assault. They met the same fate.
The artillery of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade, was also involved in repelling the attacks.
The Russian invaders do not abandon their intentions to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces away from occupied Donetsk and seize as much territory as possible.
The 46th Brigade’s paratroopers regularly report on defensive battles in the Mariinka sector. The last one was two weeks ago. Attempts were made to attack the positions of the brigade’s 2nd and 3rd battalions.
After one day of fighting, the enemy lost two armored combat vehicles, two MT-LBs, and one armored personnel carrier. One MT-LB and a modern Russian T-90M Proryv tank were damaged. More than a hundred vehicles were destroyed and captured. Similar attacks took place in July and June of this year.
