The First Eastern District Court of Khabarovsk considered an appeal against the arrest of a serviceman accused in a criminal case of voluntary surrender.
Mediazona reported on this.
Initially, the South Sakhalin Garrison Military Court assigned the serviceman to the detention center.
This is the first known case in Russia against a military officer for voluntary surrender (Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code).
In addition, he is accused of desertion during the mobilization period (Article 338(3) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Under the first article, the defendant faces up to 10 years in prison, under the second – up to 15.
The defendant’s name is classified on the website of the 1st Eastern District Court, where the appeal against his arrest was considered on April 11.
Militarnyi previously reported that a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone detected a Russian invader trying to surrender and led him to the positions of the Ukrainian military.
The detected Russian invader completely disarmed and undressed himself in front of the Mavic 3 drone that was monitoring the battlefield.
After that, he followed the drone to one of the trenches, where Ukrainian soldiers were waiting for him.
The captured Russian looks exhausted and probably injured in the video. The Ukrainian military found him a place in a trench and gave the Russian soldier water.
Other details of the surrender to the Russian invader are currently unknown.
However, this is not an isolated case, in particular, due to the Russian tactics of using mobilized soldiers as cannon fodder during assaults and poor treatment in the rear.
