A Ukrainian drone uses a grenade to destroy a Russian T-90M Proryv tank in the Donetsk region.

The Shadow unit published a video of the enemy tank’s destruction.

The abandoned T-90M of the invaders was discovered on one of the sections of the eastern front.

It is not known why the Russians abandoned their tank. However, Ukrainian defenders decided to destroy it.

A Mavic drone was used to drop a hand grenade into the open turret hatch. After the explosion, a massive fire broke out inside the enemy tank’s combat compartment.

Presumably, there was ammunition inside, and the grenade explosion ignited the propellant charges for 125-mm shells fired by the T-90M Proryv tank.

The invaders’ combat vehicle burned out from the inside, which actually led to its destruction. It is preliminarily reported that the T-90M was destroyed near the village of Tonenke near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.

It is worth noting that the Russian tank had an additional reactive armor installed on the top of the turret, which should have protected the tank from kamikaze drones and other threats.

Also, in the aft part of the turret, two electronic warfare (EW) systems are visible, which are designed to counter drones.

However, due to the fact that the crew was not in the T-90M, it was probably turned off and could not prevent the tank from being destroyed.

T-90M Proryv is an upgraded version of the Russian T-90 main battle tank. The vehicle received higher armor protection due to the new welded turret, the installation of spaced armor, and Relikt reactive armor.

Ukraine’s defense forces have repeatedly destroyed and captured Russian T-90M on the battlefield.
