Soldiers of Prince Roman the Great 14th Mechanized Brigade destroyed the Russian Buk-M1-2 SAM system’s 9A310M1-2 TELAR in the east.
Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko published a video of the enemy’s defeat.
According to him, the 9A310M1-2 transporter erector launcher and radar (TELAR) of the Buk-M1-2 SAM was destroyed by a powerful Ukrainian FPV drone.
The Russians deployed a launcher with two green anti-aircraft missiles among the trees in a forestry area between fields on the temporarily occupied territory.
Ukrainian defenders discovered the Russian air defense position and attacked it with a kamikaze drone. The explosion of its warhead caused the launcher to catch fire.
However, it is unknown how many FPVs were used to defeat the Russian Buk-M1-2 SAM system’s 9A310M1-2 TELAR.
The footage captures the flames seriously damaging the launcher from the inside and destroying the missiles.
The volunteer added that the visual inspection, as well as radio intercepts and radar monitoring data in the area of the Buk-M1-2 SAM launcher, confirmed the destruction of the Russian SAM.
Earlier on Tuesday, March 12, the Ukrainian Defense Forces reported the destruction of another Buk SAM in one of the sections of the Ukrainian-Russian front.
The video of the Special Operations Forces Command indicates that a high-precision munition was used to destroy the Russian equipment, and it is likely that the Russian system was hit by a US HIMARS rocket system.
The footage shows that after the ammunition hit, the anti-aircraft missiles detonated and burned violently. This caused several missiles to fly in different directions.
The powerful fire and detonation of ammunition indicate the destruction of the Russian system.
