The British army has reduced training for the Ukrainian military by 30% due to numerous complaints from local residents about noise in the vicinity of the training ground.
The Times reported on this.
Lydd Town Council in Kent recently reported to the Ministry of Defense that it had received complaints from residents about the noise coming from a training ground near the town.
The base commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Powell, has agreed to reduce training by 30%, along with other measures to reduce noise levels.
“We are deeply grateful for the support we receive from Lydd during the training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I realize that this creates more noise than the British Armed Forces’ training in Lydd usually does,” the Lieutenant Colonel wrote in a letter to the townspeople.
In his letter, he stated that he had instructed his team to review the training processes, which resulted in a 30% noise reduction.
“We have stopped using the most intense smoke effects and will reduce the duration and intensity of the loudest sound effects. The people of Lydd have been consistently welcoming to my team and I am fully committed to maintaining a strong relationship with them. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns,” Powell wrote in his letter.
Local residents living near the landfill complain about the constant sounds of explosions and shooting, which last from early morning until almost 10 p.m.
Militarnyi reported that Ukrainian marines in the UK were training to conduct amphibious operations.
The training program included life and survival in the field, first aid, and close combat.
In addition, the soldiers improved their physical fitness and planning skills.
The UK also trained Ukrainian military chaplains to provide pastoral care, spiritual support and moral guidance.
