The Russian so-called occupation authorities on Saturday announced a drone attack on infrastructure facilities in the Krasnohvardiiske district of the peninsula.
An ammunition depot near the Oktiabrske air base, which is located near Simferopol, was hit. An oil depot near the Elevatorna railway station also caught fire.
Local residents publish videos of the heavy smoke and sounds of explosions from detonation of ammunition.
In the area of the oil depot, thick black smoke is rising into the sky, which is visible from afar.
The head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, admitted that as a result of the drone attack in the Krasnogvardeyskoye district, detonation occurred at the ammunition depot.
The occupation so-called authorities made a decision to evacuate the population within a radius of 5 kilometers from the scene. People are taken to temporary accommodation.
Also, to “minimize risks,” they decided to suspend the movement of trains by the Crimean railway.
As previously reported, on July 19, at the Starokrymsky training ground near the village of Krynychki in the Kirov region of Crimea, a Russian ammunition depot began to detonate.
Locals allegedly reported three incoming strikes, followed by explosions. According to eyewitnesses, the shock wave from the first detonation and subsequent explosions were heard even in Feodosiia.
