Ukraine, the EU, and NATO agreed to join forces to increase the production of weapons and ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This will be a tripartite coordination mechanism that will synchronize the work of arms manufacturers, buyers, and governments.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated this at the Ukraine-EU-NATO tripartite meeting in Brussels.

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, and Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, also participated in the meeting.

“Ukraine, the EU, and NATO agreed to establish a coordination mechanism between Ukrainian manufacturers and enterprises of the EU and NATO countries to optimize the production of weapons for Ukrainian needs,” the statement reads.

Additionally, Dmytro Kuleba proposed to start training the Ukrainian pilots under the current EU and NATO mechanisms.

The tripartite Ukraine-EU-NATO format will operate on a permanent basis.

As previously reported, the EU countries will purchase artillery ammunition for the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Josep Borrell is to propose an EU purchase mechanism in early March in Stockholm.
