In the Russian-occupied city of Shakhtarsk, Donetsk region, a large fire occurred on the evening of October 26 as a result of a fuel storage inflammation.
News of Donbas reported this. Videos of the incident were also released on social media.
The Russian invaders claim that the fuel fire was allegedly caused by shelling.
Eyewitnesses report that the fire started at about 9:30 pm after several explosions were heard in the area of the Postnikovo railway station.
The Russian occupation authorities reported the fire in the 12 fuel tanks on the railway line and on the roof of the railway station itself.
Videos published on social media show powerful flames rising into the sky, illuminating the surrounding streets.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire was so strong that powerful flames from the fire were visible from neighboring cities and villages.
To extinguish the fire, the invaders announced the involvement of 10 fire trucks, and a fire train from Ilovaysk was also sent to the scene.
Shakhtarsk is a city of regional significance, the district center in the Donetsk region. It is part of the Shakhtarsk agglomeration.
The village is located 50 kilometers east of Donetsk. The city has been under the control of Russian forces and their controlled groups since 2014.
Recently, the Ukrainian military used American М142 HIMARS to destroy Russian 2S5 Giatsint-S ACSs in the Luhansk region.
After the GMLRS hit, one self-propelled gun was destroyed and lost its cannon. The other self-propelled howitzer probably suffered significant damage.
