Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has received about 20,000 Starlink terminals, according to Ukrinform news agency.
The agency reported such figures referring to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine information.
5,000 of the terminals were obtained due to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Another 5,000 — due to the Polish government’s efforts.
It is noted that another 5,000 terminals were received due to the EU digital transformation ministers’ initiative, the rest — from private companies.
To date, Starlink is the critical infrastructure that impacts the lives of thousands of people.
Terminals help energy companies, fire departments, rescuers, hospitals and the Ukrainian military to keep in touch.
The ministry added that Elon Musk helps Ukraine not only with satellite communications, but also with Tesla Powerwall systems.
These are powerful batteries that allow to maintain communication in the hottest spots despite a power outage.
So far, the founder of the Tesla has transferred about 50 such systems to Ukraine free of charge.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched another 54 minisatellites into orbit to replenish the orbital group of the Starlink satellite internet service.
Starlink is a SpaceX project that provides broadband Internet access through a network of satellites.
The speed of such Internet is up to 1 Gbit/s for each subscriber, and you can use it anywhere on Earth.
