Finland will provide Ukraine with an additional batch of military aid to resist the Russian occupation.
The Ministry of Defense of Finland reported about this.
This will be the eighth batch of military aid for the Defense Forces of Ukraine worth €8.3 million.
Initially, it was the Finnish government who proposed to provide another tranche of assistance to Ukraine, and yesterday the country’s President supported the decision.
“As Ukraine’s resistance continues, the need for help remains great. We are sending a new package of defense materials,” Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen said.
For security reasons, it has not been specified what the aid will contain and when the Ukrainian servicemen are to receive it. Similarly, they do not disclose the ways of future delivery of new weapons.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the Finish additional aid takes into account both the needs of Ukraine and the resource situation of the country’s defense forces.
According to Reuters, the total cost of Finland’s defense aid to Ukraine has now reached €92.3 million since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion.
At the beginning of August, it was reported that Finland will send instructors to Britain to train the Ukrainian troops.
The Ministry of Defense of Finland announced that about 20 service personnel will be sent.
As previously reported, the territorial defense of Ukraine received 23 ItK 61 anti-aircraft guns from Finland.
