The turret of a Russian tank flew high up from the powerful explosion after ammunition detonation.

The tank was destroyed due to the joint work of defense forces units in the Kharkiv Region.

A video featuring the defeat with subsequent explosions of Russian invaders’ combat vehicle was released on the web.

It was reported that the tank was destroyed by soldiers of the 49th battalion and 30th brigade of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The video footage showcases an enemy tank on a dirt road between a field and a forest.

The vehicle was hit by the Ukrainian servicemen. Immediately after being hit, the Russian tank started burning with bright flames and thick smoke.

After 15 seconds of burning inside the combat vehicle, the ammunition began to detonate. A powerful explosion occurred 30 seconds later. Presumably because of the large number of shells that detonated simultaneously.

With this explosion, the multi-ton turret of the enemy tank was thrown high up. A column of smoke from the fire and the wreckage of the tank also rose upwards.

The footage showcases the complete destruction of armored vehicles that belonged to the Russian Federation invasion forces and were used in the Izium direction.

Such powerful explosions with the separation of the turret from the hull are mostly characteristic of Soviet-built tanks when their ammunition detonation occurs. Sometimes the explosion of ammunition is so strong that not only does the tower fly away, but all that is left of the armored vehicle is a few isolated pieces of metal.

This shortcoming is related to the design of tanks and their ammunition storage. In the case of Soviet main battle tanks, it is a machine gun or charging mechanism inside the turret that stores the main ammunition.

One successful hit with an anti-tank weapon results in the complete destruction of a combat vehicle. During the burning and explosion of ammunition, a huge pressure is created in the tank, which is looking for a way out. If the crew does not leave the combat vehicle in time, the consequences for them will be fatal.
