The Ukrainian servicemen use EOS C VTOL drones purchased by the Lithuanians for reconnaissance of the Russian positions.
This was announced by Lithuanian TV presenter and public figure Andrius Tapinas.
The Lithuanian presenter also released a video featuring the drones in action.
The two drones already handed over to the Ukrainians were named Magyla-1 and Magyla-2 in honor of the ancient Lithuanian goddess of death.
These drones perform reconnaissance missions to identify Russian invasion forces’ equipment and personnel locations.
Andrius Tapinas said that the drones already detected enemy equipment on the outskirts of Vrubivka and Loskutivka in the Luhansk Region. In particular, tanks of various types, armored personnel carriers, and other combat vehicles were discovered.
Thanks to the transmitted information and the exact coordinates recorded by the drone, the Ukrainian artillery struck the concentration of enemy forces and means.
The successful result was evidenced by thick black smoke filmed by the drone on its way back.
Prior to raising funds for Bayraktar TB2, the Lithuanians purchased two EOS C VTOL vertical take-off reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles in Estonia for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In June, the purchase of four more Estonian-made drones for €660,000 was announced. €990,000 were spent on six drones in total. Thus, the cost of one drone is €165,000.
EOS C VTOL (ELECTRIC HIGH PERFORMANCE VTOL MINI-UAV) drones were developed by the Estonian Threod Systems, which deals in unmanned aircraft systems including unmanned aerial vehicles with both fixed wing and vertical take-off and landing.
EOS C is a high-performance electric vertical take-off and landing UAV with good flight characteristics. Its camera can record enemy equipment in detail at a distance of 15 kilometers.
