The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a batch of pickup trucks from Germany.
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine reported about this.
In the past three weeks, the German government has sent the Armed Forces of Ukraine 80 various pickup vehicles.
The cars are a part of technical assistance meant to meet the equipment needs of the Ukrainian troops.
Dozens of pickup trucks will be useful for transporting personnel and small loads, as well as performing other tasks.
Previously, the government of Germany included Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles in its assistance list for Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are to receive three German recovery vehicles.
In order to use these vehicles Ukrainian servicemen have to undergo training in Germany.
For security reasons, Germany will refrain from providing additional information, such as delivery methods and scheduling, until the transfer occurs.
The German Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicle is a type of a combat support vehicle. It was developed on the basis of a Leopard 1 tank.
Germany has also solved the problem of supplying the ammunition for the “Gepard” anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery system to Ukraine.
The German government initially located the ammunition in South America, but their transfer to Ukraine was not approved by Switzerland, the manufacturing country. Instead, a Norway manufacturer stated its readiness to produce these specific 35-mm rounds.
