The batch of HIMARS artillery systems announced the day before will arrive in Ukraine in mid-July.

It is about 4 highly mobile systems announced the day before. This information became known to journalists from a high-ranking official in the Defense Department of the United States.

“The first batch of four High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems that the US pledged to Ukraine are now in the country, and the newly announced batch of four HIMARS will be delivered by mid-July, according to a senior US defense official” , the publication said.

It was also noted that the unit of Ukrainian gunners is already undergoing training for the operation of the system.

Reminder: the United States announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine worth $450 million. It includes 4 more high-mobility HIMARS artillery missile systems.

The United States also provides Ukraine with 36 thousand 105-mm artillery ammunition, 18 tactical vehicles for towing of 155-mm artillery, 1200 grenade launchers, 2000 machine guns, 18 coastal and river patrol boats, as well as spare parts and other equipment.

On June 23, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced that the first 4 HIMARS systems are already in Ukraine.

M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) uses a 6-wheel chassis of an M1140 FMTV tactical truck.

The system can be used as a rocket launcher with ammunition of different ranges, and as a tactical missile system.
