NATO members are expected to denote Russia as a direct threat and state it in a new strategic document.
The Alliance is expected to adopt the document in June.
Bloomberg reported about this.
The publication notes that Russia will be denoted as a threat and will record support for neighbouring countries that are vulnerable to aggression.
However, referring to an official who is close to the process, they add that in the event of a change in Moscow’s behavior, relations may be restored.
The Strategic Concept sets out the Alliance’s priorities for the coming years. It will be finalized at the summit in Madrid in June.
In the previous version of 2010, Russia was mentioned as a partner.
As reported earlier, Finland has officially applied for NATO membership.
