The effects of using an unknown substance are to be determined.

Recently, Eduard Basurin, a militant from the so-called DPR, shared with the Russian media that chemical troops should get involved to charge the “Azovstal” plant in Mariupol, where the Ukrainian military is stationed.

“There is no point in charging the “Azovstal” underground fortifications in Mariupol, so we need to resort to chemical troops,” Basurin said.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, amid this statement, the Russian invaders launched a disinformation campaign to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine based on fake news about the use of chemical weapons by the Ukrainian military.
