A MiG-31 fighter jet has crashed in Russia’s Leningrad region.

Militarnyi informs about this.

The crew of the invaders’ fighter jet ejected. The media of the aggressor state reported about the incident.

According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction could be the cause of the MiG-31 crash.

The Western Military District of the Russian Federation also states that the plane crashed in a deserted place, and there is no destruction on the ground.

MiG-31 is a Soviet and Russian double supersonic high-altitude long-range fighter-interceptor aircraft. It was designed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau as an upgrade to the MiG-25 from the 1970s.

Modernized MiG-31BM aircraft are already coming into service of the Russian Air Forces.

Previously, in January 2022 the MiG-31 fighter jet of Russian Air Forces rolled out of a runway and collapsed in the Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
