Wildberries Logistics Hub in Tula Region Burns Following Drone Strike

Ukrainian long-range drones struck one of Russian marketplace Wildberries’ largest distribution centers in the Tula region during the night of August 5.

The company as well as the region’s governor confirmed the strike.

The attack sparked a massive fire at the warehouse, with thick smoke visible from several kilometers away.

After analyzing videos shared online by eyewitnesses, Militarnyi determined that the strike targeted the Wildberries logistics hub in the city of Aleksin.

“Fire crews are working at the company’s logistics facility in the Tula region, where a fire broke out following the attack. The site was evacuated in advance. The acceptance of incoming shipments has been temporarily suspended, and deliveries have been redirected to other facilities,” the company said.

According to Dmitry Milyaev, the region’s governor, the fire started after a “UAV crashed” onto the premises of the Wildberries sorting center.

The strike hit one of the marketplace’s largest distribution centers, a 194,500-square-meter facility that opened in 2022.

The hub served as a storage and distribution center for goods destined for the Tula, Kaluga, Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk, and Ryazan regions, as well as other neighboring areas of central Russia. It also helped ease the workload of logistics centers in the Moscow region.

Available footage indicates that the fire engulfed a significant portion – or possibly the entirety – of the warehouse.

This is not the first strike on the logistics infrastructure of the Russian marketplace Wildberries.

Previously, Ukrainian long-range drones struck the company’s warehouse facilities in Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, St. Petersburg, occupied Simferopol, as well as the Penza and Perm regions.

The facilities were engulfed in large-scale fires that damaged or completely destroyed the logistics centers. Following the attacks, the marketplace removed the “Everything for the Special Military Operation” tag from its website.
