Russian Marketplace Wildberries Removes “Everything for SVO” Tag After Drone Attacks

Russian marketplace Wildberries has removed the “Everything for the SVO (“special military operation” – ed.)” tag from its website following attacks on its warehouses.

The Russian Dozhd TV channel reported on this.

Currently, Google and the Russian search engine Yandex still display links to Wildberries with the corresponding tag when searching for “Everything for the SVO.” However, after opening the link, the marketplace reports that no matching products were found.

At the same time, according to a copy of the page preserved in Yandex’s cache, a search for “Everything for the SVO” on Wildberries on May 29 returned products including helmets, body armor, and other military equipment.

In addition, souvenirs related to military themes were available under this tag.

At the same time, the products themselves remain available on the marketplace, as do several dozen other active tags related to the war, including “SVO Goods,” “SVO Accessories” and “SVO Supplies.”

On July 18, strike drones operated by Ukraine’s Defense Forces attacked Wildberries warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions.

As a result of the strike carried out by the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the warehouse in Elektrostal, Moscow region, was destroyed. In Kotovsk, Tambov region, another strike caused a fire inside warehouse facilities.

Further attacks on Wildberries warehouses took place on July 24 and 25. The company’s logistics centers in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, Simferopol and Yekaterinburg were targeted.

Thus, drones operated by Ukraine’s Defense Forces have already attacked four of Wildberries’ largest logistics centers in Russia.

Wildberries is Russia’s largest marketplace, often described as the Russian equivalent of Amazon. Its logistics centers are key elements of the company’s infrastructure.

In addition to civilian goods, Wildberries also advertises military equipment on its website, including body armor, fiber-optic spools for drones, drones themselves and their components, with product descriptions emphasizing that they are intended for the so-called SVO (Russian abbreviation for “special military operation”).
