Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a large-scale attack on Russian air defense assets in Russia and occupied Crimea.
Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi published footage of the attack.
In Krasnodar Krai, the strikes hit a Podlet radar system near the settlement of Prigibsky, a Kasta 2E2 radar system near Shabelskoye, a Pantsir-S1 air defense gun-missile system near Yeysk, and an S-400 positions in Gelendzhik.
In the Rostov region, the strikes hit a Tor air defense system near Pudovyi, a Nebo-U radar system near Dolotinka, a Kasta 2E2 radar system near Latonovo, and a Podlet radar system near Golovatovka.
In Crimea, Unmanned Systems Forces drones struck a Nebo-U radar system near Sevastopol, a 36D6M radar system in Uyutne, and an ST-68 radar system.
Striking such a large number of radar and air defense systems represents a significant blow to the Russian air defense network.
This creates additional opportunities for Ukrainian missiles and drones, increasing the likelihood that more strike assets will penetrate the air defense network and reach their designated targets.
The attack also affected Russian aviation. In Krasnodar Krai, Vityazevo airfield was attacked, with Su-33 and MiG-29 fighter jets and an Orion drone control center reportedly struck.
Russia actively uses fighters based in its southern regions to attack Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, as well as targets in the Black Sea, using Kh-31 and Kh-59 missiles.
The fighters are also used to patrol occupied territories, counter Ukrainian aircraft, intercept long-range drones and cruise missiles, and attack Ukrainian naval drones.
Earlier, it was reported that the Unmanned Systems Forces had struck 27 energy facilities in occupied Crimea, other temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine and Russia since August 17.
The series of strikes led to a large-scale blackout on the Crimean Peninsula.
