Russia reported an attack by Ukrainian drones on the 4th State Central Inter-Service Training Ground Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan region.

According to the Russian monitoring Telegram channel “Radar VRV,” air defense systems were operating in the area.

The training ground is used to launch medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBMs) from the Oreshnik complex.

It was with this missile that Russia struck the suburbs of Lviv on January 8, after which journalists published photos of the debris.

The training ground also tests a large number of different short- and medium-range missiles, cruise missiles, complexes, and air defense systems.

The previous drone attack on Kapustin Yar took place in July 2024, when they struck buildings on the test site.

Russian sources released a video showing strike UAVs hitting the assembly and testing building.
