Ukrainian Defense Forces Fight Off Mass Assault Near Yasenove

Ukrainian Defense Forces units, part of the Vuhledar tactical task force, successfully repelled a large-scale Russian assault in the Pokrovsk sector.

The enemy deployed four groups to perform the attack, advancing on foot, in ATVs, motorcycles, armored vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, and tanks.

Thanks to the effective intelligence work, the enemy’s advance was detected in time, allowing Ukrainian defenders to prepare for the counterattack and deploy firepower in advance.

The first to open fire on the enemy were the artillerymen, who, with a precise shot, destroyed the ATV being used by Russian assault troops. After the artillery strike began, Russian infantry in light vehicles started seeking cover in the nearest tree line.

Meanwhile, drones with combat drops began targeting the infantry approaching on foot, eliminating several invaders.

Due to the assault from multiple directions, Ukrainian defenders were forced to open fire on enemy armored vehicles as well. One such target was an MT-LB with troops aboard: an FPV drone was directed at it, but the vehicle continued moving.

After the infantry landed in the woods, the MT-LB drove about 50 meters further and was hit by a second FPV drone.

The Vuhledar tactical task force noted that each enemy group had its own task and did not try to storm one specific position. Probably, the enemy planned to break through the Ukrainian defense or destroy its elements with a further attempt to capture the settlements of Bohdanivka, Troitske, and Horikhove.

The destruction of Russian forces took place near the settlements of Yasenove and Novoandriivka, at coordinates 48.09479, 37.043321.

Militarnyi previously reported that a Russian assault group of a dozen armored vehicles launched a suicidal offensive in a marching column and was completely defeated by drones and artillery.

All armored vehicles, namely 12 armored vehicles and tanks, were damaged, 7 of them completely destroyed.
