Analysts at The Defense Post have published a list of the world’s top 100 companies developing drone technologies across air, land, and sea domains.

The outlet noted that inclusion in the ranking reflected not only recognition but also distinction, highlighting a company’s innovation, influence, and leadership in a rapidly evolving defense landscape.

The list is based on an independent assessment of global unmanned systems manufacturers, with a focus on drone-related revenue and contributions to the development of autonomous defense technologies.

The ranking methodology considered annual revenue, investment in research and development, growth trends, and the potential of innovative solutions.

Companies that are more than 50.1% state-owned or state-controlled were excluded, as were those with opaque ownership structures or links to sanctioned regimes.

The firms associated with the Russian government were disqualified regardless of their technological capabilities.

However, some companies with partial government ties, such as Turkey’s Aselsan — owned by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation but operating with significant independence in R&D and international partnerships — were included.

Several Ukrainian companies made the list. TAF Drones, which develops FPV drones, reconnaissance UAVs, and electronic warfare and intelligence systems, ranked 22nd.

Ukrspecsystems, a manufacturer of drones and military electronics, was ranked 65th.

Airlogix, another Ukrainian firm, placed 84th. Its flagship product is the GOR unmanned aerial system, used for reconnaissance and artillery targeting. The UAV has a flight time of 2 to 2.5 hours and a range of 150 km, with a communications link maintained at 30–40 km.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces approved the domestic Volynyaka unmanned aviation system for operational use, adding to the growing list of Ukrainian-developed drones.
