The UK government has announced the transfer of Terrahawk Paladin stationary air defense systems to Ukraine to provide site-specific air defense against drones.

This was reported on the official website of the British government.

The additional aid package from the UK for air defense capability included the transfer of the MSI-DS Terrahawk Paladin, a platform that can track and destroy drones and protect critical national infrastructure manufactured by MSI Defense Systems.

“Today I am proud to announce that the UK, alongside our allies, is delivering on that promise with new contracts to provide Ukraine with critical air defense systems to protect civilians from Putin’s barbaric bombing campaign,” Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said.

The system is characterized by complete autonomy, as well as the availability of appropriate sensors and systems for searching, detecting, locking on, and destroying air, ground, and surface targets at short range.

A gun is used to destroy targets, the caliber of which can be changed at the request of the customer. As standard, the gun is equipped with a 30-mm Mark 44 Bushmaster II cannon with a possible increase in caliber to 40 mm.

Besides the gun, the platform is equipped with a fixed radar mast with a circular view to detect small targets.

An optical target acquisition system with a day and night channel is mounted in conjunction with the radar, which ensures the destruction of enemy targets in any weather.

The system is powered by a generator that provides power for the system and the control kit. The control itself is done remotely and can be conducted in unprepared places.

MSI Defense Systems is a pioneer in the development of remotely operated guns. Their guns are currently in active use on surface ships around the world, providing reliable protection against surface and air threats.

Militarnyi previously reported that the UK is handing over Scimitar armored tracked military reconnaissance vehicles to Ukraine after they have been prepared by RBSL specialists.

RBSL specialists traveled to Europe to assist the British Army in preparing Scimitar Mk.2 vehicles to be shipped to Ukraine.

The vehicles will be repaired and prepared for transportation. The Scimitar Mk.2 vehicles are being transferred from British Army units currently deployed in Europe.
