Ukraine has tested a domestically developed ballistic missile of an unspecified type.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who recently announced his resignation, reported this while summarizing his work in office.

According to Fedorov, the project was developed under the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense. He noted that the test took place on July 14, the day the government was dismissed.

He also reported that during the project, the technical specifications were radically revised, the missile’s accuracy was maximized and its cost was reduced by 30%.

Fedorov did not specify which missile system he was referring to. At the same time, the mention of the “area of responsibility of the Ministry of Defense” may indicate that the missile was not the FP-7 or FP-9 ballistic missile developed by Fire Point.

It was recently reported that testing of the FP-9 ballistic missile before it begins striking targets in Russia requires the completion of tests of its solid-fuel rocket engine.

Fedorov may have been referring to the Sapsan operational-tactical missile system, whose serial production reportedly began in 2025.

In March, it became known that the Defense Procurement Agency had signed long-term contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers of cruise and ballistic missiles.

Deliveries under these contracts are scheduled to begin partially this year, with the remainder planned for next year.
