Shtilerman: From the Start of FP-9 Testing, Only Solid-Fuel Engine Tests Separate It From Strikes on Russia

From the start of testing of the FP-9 ballistic missiles, only solid-fuel engine tests separate them from strikes on Russia.

This was reported by Denys Shtilerman, co-owner and chief designer of Fire Point, in an interview with LIGAnet.

He was responding to a journalist’s question about when the company plans to provide the military with ballistic missiles to strike the occupiers.

“…there’s just one thing holding us back: engine testing. Once we test the engine, we’ll begin flight tests,” said Shtilerman.

According to him, as soon as the company’s engineers confirm that the missile meets all specified parameters, it will be deployed to strike targets on the territory of the aggressor country.

“…then, as soon as we see that the missile is guided and is performing as programmed by the algorithm, we’ll begin testing it against Russia. That’s it,” noted the co-owner of Fire Point.

He expects that FP-9 ballistic missiles will begin striking targets on Russian territory as early as this fall. The FP-9 is expected to have a range of 855 km, a speed of 2,200 m/s, a payload of 800 kg, and a flight altitude of up to 70 km. The missile will be launched from a mobile ground platform.

With an accuracy of 20 meters, it will be capable of striking large targets deep behind enemy lines.

Earlier, Shtilerman stated that Fire Point would begin testing the FP-9 ballistic missile in early summer 2026.

In addition, it is worth noting that at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, this company unveiled its own machine tools for manufacturing rocket engines.

Fire Point explained that they were forced to develop their own equipment because purchasing ready-made machinery proved to be too expensive and time-consuming.
