Ukraine’s F-Drones Delivers First 2,000 F10 Drones to U.S.

The U.S. military has received the first 2,000 F10 FPV drones from Ukrainian company F-Drones.

The company confirmed the delivery to Militarnyi.

The drones are currently undergoing the acceptance process. Once it is completed, U.S. military personnel will begin training on their operation.

“These units are currently undergoing the acceptance process. Once it is completed, training for U.S. military personnel will begin (a separate export approval application for the training services has been submitted to the State Service for Export Control), covering how to operate our UAVs,” F-Drones said.

The company added that once the acceptance process is complete, an additional contract could be signed for a new batch of drones. The option allows for the delivery of up to 1,000 more FPV drones.

The shipment was made as part of the first phase of the Gauntlet I program under the Drone Dominance Program, in which the F10 drone was selected by the Pentagon.

The F10 is the first Ukrainian drone to receive official authorization for export to the United States. F-Drones is participating in the program together with its U.S. partner, UDD Tech Corp.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the competition, Gauntlet II, is underway. F-Drones has already qualified and is set to deliver 120 drones, which will be used to train U.S. military personnel.

Trials are scheduled for late August, during which U.S. operators will fly the drones. The results of these evaluations will determine future procurement contracts. F-Drones has the opportunity to secure a new agreement for up to 9,000 drones.

Background to F-Drones’ Exports to the United States

Drone Dominance is a $1 billion U.S. Department of Defense program aimed at procuring more than 200,000 drones for the U.S. military by 2027. The initiative focuses on acquiring drones capable of delivering lethal effects in the most demanding battlefield conditions.

During the trials, all drones are operated by U.S. military personnel and evaluated on their ability to carry out a range of combat mission scenarios. The program consists of four Gauntlet phases.

F-Drones recently became one of the founding members of the newly established Ukraine–EU Drone Alliance. The alliance aims to bring together Ukrainian and European manufacturers to expand the production of unmanned systems.
