Ukraine has developed technology that automates 95% of the process of intercepting Shahed drones.
The technology was developed by MaXon Systems, according to Zbroyari and Defender Media.
The system has already successfully passed combat tests in the Kharkiv region with a unit of the 12th Special Forces Group.
Video confirmation was published today by the state-run Brave1 platform, of which MaXon Systems is a member.
The operator views the movement of targets in real time, selects a target, and issues a strike command. After that, the system autonomously guides the drone to the target, independently identifies it, and locks onto Shahed-type UAVs.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported that, with the support of Brave1, the manufacturer was able to transition from the prototype stage to successful combat deployment in less than a year.
“Autonomy is one of the key areas of development in modern air defense. Such technologies allow for a faster response to massive attacks and more effective protection of Ukrainian cities,” Fedorov noted.
