The United Kingdom, together with Norway, will announce a joint military aid package for Ukraine worth £450 million (approximately $580 million) at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

Bloomberg reported on this, citing the UK Ministry of Defence.

The funds will be used to purchase a large number of drones for the Ukrainian military. Their financing will come from existing funds.

The aid package includes the rapid delivery of FPV kamikaze drones and drones capable of dropping munitions on Russian positions.

Some of the unmanned aerial vehicles will be purchased from British and Ukrainian manufacturers. According to estimates, this type of drone is responsible for 60–70% of the damage inflicted on Russian equipment on the front line.

The funds will also be used to purchase radar systems, anti-tank mines, and to support the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

As previously reported, the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, co-chaired by the United Kingdom and Germany, will take place today, April 11, in Brussels.

Military aid

Earlier in April, Norway pledged NOK 4 billion ($376 million) to support the Czech initiative aimed at procuring artillery ammunition for Ukraine in 2025.

Additionally, Norway will allocate another NOK 1 billion ($94 million) to the European Peace Facility, further strengthening its commitment to international peace and security.

Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson announced that his country would purchase Polish drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces as part of military assistance.

The Estonian Ministry of Defence announced the allocation of €5 million to the IT Coalition as part of the assistance. In addition, the country will also direct the efforts of its defense industry to produce defense-related products, which will later be provided to Ukraine.

This week, Belgium announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, estimated at €1 billion.
