A Cobra-LAMV armored vehicle manufactured by the Emirati company Streit Group has been spotted with Russian National Guard special forces.
Military historian and Doctor of Historical Sciences Andrii Kharuk drew attention to this.
The vehicle, which reportedly belongs to the Bulat Special Rapid Response Unit of the Russian National Guard, was photographed in the Moscow region.
The image of the vehicle was published by one of the Russian propaganda Telegram channels.
The Cobra-LAMV armored vehicle uses a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 chassis. It has two body configurations – a three-door and a five-door version.
“However, the photo was taken from an angle that makes it unclear which version it is,” Kharuk noted.
According to him, it is a typical police ‘soft-road’ armored vehicle with limited off-road capability beyond paved surfaces. The Cobra-LAMV weighs 5.7 tons and can carry 6–7 people, including the driver.
Previously, Spartan-SUT armored vehicles manufactured by Streit Group were also spotted in Russian National Guard units. How this equipment ended up in Russia remains unknown.
A number of armored vehicle models produced by this company – including the Spartan, Cobra, and Cougar – continue to be used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, although they have been almost completely replaced by domestically produced and Western-made vehicles.
