Russia is preparing to test a new ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 km.
Vadym Skibitskyi, deputy chief of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, said this.
According to Defense Intelligence, the tests are planned for the coming months as part of the final stage of the missile’s development cycle.
“According to our estimates, by the end of this year, Russia plans to conduct final tests of a new type of ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 kilometers,” Vadym Skibitskyi said.
The Defense Intelligence representative clarified that during the test launches, Russian forces may attempt to strike targets in western Ukraine. If Russia has a mobile launcher, it could strike Zakarpattia from the Bryansk region.
It was previously reported that Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence published detailed information about Russia’s 3M22 Zircon missile.
Due to problems with using its fleet in the Black Sea, Russia adapted the missile for launch from Bastion-M coastal missile systems.
