Finland Announces 34th Military Aid Package for Ukraine Worth €290 Million

Finland will provide Ukraine with its 34th military aid package, worth approximately €290 million.

According to Finland’s Ministry of Defense, this new package will bring the total value of Finland’s defense assistance to Ukraine to approximately €3.6 billion.

The new package will be the second-largest military aid package Finland has provided to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

It will include weapons and other defense equipment, some of which was purchased from Finland’s defense industry.

“Finland continues to support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s illegal aggression. Throughout the war, we have provided Ukraine with material assistance based on its needs,” Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen reported.

According to Häkkänen, purchasing products from Finnish defense companies for Ukraine also helps expand the production capacity of Finland’s own defense industry.

For operational security reasons, Finland has not disclosed the contents of the package or details about when and how it will be delivered.

Finland’s previous military aid package, worth €128 million, was approved by President Alexander Stubb on May 29.

The latest aid comes amid reports that Russia’s Promtekhnologiya defense plant has been using Finnish-made .338 Lapua Magnum bullets in quantities large enough to support mass ammunition production at the factory.
