Soldiers of the 23rd R.U.G. Assault Regiment of the Khartia Corps cleared new areas of terrain between Dvorichna and Zapadny in the Kupiansk District.

The regiment reported on the successful offensive on social media.

In one area, R.U.G. soldiers worked alongside fighters from the 35th Separate Marine Brigade.

Ukrainian military personnel and foreign volunteers from Latin American countries were involved in performing the combat mission. In total, the operation liberated 4 km² of Ukrainian territory.

The offensive is part of a broader operation during which, on August 30, fighters from the 23rd Assault Regiment recaptured 2 km² of forest near the village of Zapadne, and during an operation in the Dvorichanskyi District on August 25, Khartia fighters cleared an area southwest of Dvorichna and took control of the northern part of the village of Zapadne.

The total area of territory liberated here is 13.5 km².

Footage from UAVs and helmet-mounted cameras shows the work of assault teams, the advance of Ukrainian troops, and the clearing of enemy positions.

Dvorichna and Zapadne are settlements in the north of the Kupiansk District of Kharkiv region, near the Oskil River and on the route toward Kupiansk.

In April–May, soldiers from this regiment carried out a successful operation in the Vovchansk direction, during which they cleared a company-level stronghold and eliminated 12 Russians.

The unit had existed since the days of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and operated as a reconnaissance and strike group. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the group’s fighters took part in battles near Kyiv, the counteroffensive in the Kherson region, the Kursk operation, the defense of the Sumy region, and the liberation of Kupiansk.

Until the fall of 2025, R.U.G. operated as part of the 47th Mechanized Brigade Magura, and this March, the 4th Battalion was expanded into the 23rd Separate Assault Regiment.

On August 29, a discussion took place in Kyiv dedicated to the documentary film “Behind the Scenes of War” by Colombian director Catalina Gómez Ángel about Latin American volunteers fighting for Ukraine.
