Poland Struck by Russian Kh-101 Missile Manufactured in 2026

The Russian Kh-101 missile that crashed in Poland yesterday was manufactured this year.

This was reported by Marcin Kozak, a spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, in an interview with Ukrinform news agency.

“Preliminary investigations of the crash site and the evidence found allow us to state unequivocally… This is an Kh-101 missile manufactured in the second quarter of 2026 at one of the facilities in the Moscow region,” Kozak said.

The spokesperson also noted that a Ukrainian expert had arrived in Poland to assist in identifying the object.

On July 30, the Danish media outlet DR determined the exact geolocation of the Kh-101’s impact.

Poland’s foreign minister has already summoned the Russian ambassador regarding the missile strike, reports Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

During a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the night of July 30, one of the Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles violated Polish airspace and crashed approximately 50 kilometers from Lublin.

At the same time, at 4:40 a.m. on July 30, 2026, the “eRadar” and “Strategic Aviation” communities reported on the cruise missile over Polish territory.

In light of the incident, Warsaw is considering the possibility of transferring additional missiles to Ukraine for its Patriot air defense systems.

Following the Kh-101’s crash in Poland, two major disinformation campaigns were identified in the country’s information space, one directed against Ukraine and the other against the Polish government, reports Malgorzata Szumna, head of the narrative trends and fact-checking team at the NASK research center.

A similar airspace violation in Poland occurred in 2023, when an Kh-55 missile flew several hundred kilometers across Polish territory and crashed near the city of Bydgoszcz.
