Pentagon hires firm to deliver logistics solutions for donated equipment

The Pentagon has hired an engineering firm to deliver logistics solutions abroad for donated military equipment.

The contract by the U.S. Army was awarded to the Amentum company from the Maryland.

Amentum is one of the leading companies in global engineering, project management and solutions integration

The deal, worth up to $487 million, to provide modernized, comprehensive logistics and sustainment solutions as well as field engineering to a wide array of military equipment and systems.

It includes sustainment solutions on radars, gear, complex set of vehicles, assets, and ground support equipment.

The predictive analytics and technology assets will deliver improved performance through rapid response methods and operational forecasts.

The group will be deployed outside the continental U.S., including several locations in Europe.

The contract consists of a base year and four one-year options.

“As the world’s largest provider of U.S. Army ground and aviation equipment services, we look forward to providing leading sustainment solutions in support of our nation and its allies in various challenging missions around the globe,” Amentum said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Amentum was awarded a $4.64 billion contract to assist the U.S. Air Force in information technology and procurement management.

The 15-year contract supports U.S. joint forces’ foreign arms sales operations.

The U.S. Department of Defense expects to increase agreements with more than 105 partner nations in the coming years.
