The US has given a positive assessment of the Israeli Iron Fist active defense system and has ordered additional deliveries for Bradley IFVs.

Elbit Systems announced the signing of an additional contract worth $228 million.

Iron Fist provides all-around protection against a wide range of modern threats on the battlefield, from anti-tank guided missiles and loitering munitions to kinetic projectiles.

The system works effectively both in open terrain and in urban environments.

“This agreement is a testament to the confidence in our technology and a confirmation of our long-standing partnership with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in improving the survivability of armored forces,” Elbit Systems said.

In 2024, the US Department of War has already placed an order for the purchase of Iron Fist active protection systems worth $191 million.

Iron Fist was developed in the 2000s and, in addition to being installed on Israeli Defense Forces equipment, is also offered for export.
