Operators from Ukraine’s 73rd Naval Special Operations Center conducted a raid on enemy positions in Russia’s Kursk region, according to the Special Operations Forces’ press service.
“While the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Gerasimov, reports on the ‘liberation’ of the Kursk region from Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, operators of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center continue to successfully carry out missions in the area,” the statement reads.
During the raid on April 26, a group from the 73rd Center destroyed a unit of servicemen from Russia’s 810th Marine Brigade.
Two enemy soldiers were taken prisoner as a result of the operation. One of the captives was evacuated on a stretcher by Ukrainian special forces, while the other was able to walk.
Despite Russian political and military leadership claims that fighting in the Kursk region has ended, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold certain positions.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, five combat engagements took place in the Kursk region as of April 27.
In addition, Russian forces carried out one airstrike, dropping two guided aerial bombs (KABs), and launched 140 artillery attacks, including seven using multiple launch rocket systems.
Ukrainian drone operators recently destroyed a Russian assault bus in Kursk.
Bombus Group forces targeted and destroyed a KAVZ-39765 bus, which was reportedly used to transport Russian personnel.
It remains unclear whether the vehicle was directly involved in assault operations, though similar use of such buses by Russian troops has been recorded at the front lines.
