Ministry of Defense created equipment reserves at its warehouses

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has accumulated a significant reserve of bulletproof vests and helmets.

Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that there are currently 250,000 bulletproof vests and 150,000 helmets in reserve.

The reserve also has hundreds of thousands of sets of winter and summer uniforms and shoes.

“We started military operations when we had a shortage of body armor and helmets. There are now a quarter of a million bulletproof vests and 150,000 helmets in reserve,” Oleksii Reznikov said.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar noted that the Ministry of Defense entered the new year “absolutely according to plan”.

It includes all major tangible assets, fuel, and food supplies.

“The Ministry of Defense provided all the basic needs determined by the General Staff. Now a certain safety margin is being created,” Malyar explained.

Previously, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine reported that the first batches of women’s military uniforms and underwear have already arrived at several brigades for testing.

According to the head of the defense department, together with volunteers, two versions of suits and underwear were made for female military personnel, which will be tested during experimental wearing in military units.

The Ministry of Defense is also conducting an internal audit of all procurement systems.

“We launched an internal audit that checks all procurement systems. It still works. I think that within a week it should officially end according to all the procedures of February. Then there will be audit conclusions on everything. Then it will be put on the table for making appropriate decisions,” Reznikov said.

As previously reported, in December 2022, Great Britain handed over an additional batch of winter equipment to the Ukrainian military.
