The crew of the M1A1 Abrams SA-UKR main battle tank fired at a group of Russian infantry in the Pokrovsk sector.

The press service of the 47th Mechanized Brigade released the video.

The combat work was carried out in cooperation with aerial reconnaissance men of the 25th Assault Battalion, who discovered a cluster of Russian soldiers in one of the buildings.

Then the crew of the M1A1 Abrams SA-UKR moved to the firing position and fired several shots almost at close range.

According to the footage released by the brigade, the M1A1 tank was equipped with a three-dimensional anti-drone shield that covers the turret in the upper and rear projections.

Additional protection for the turret‘s sides is provided by the Kontakt-1 dynamic protection units, and the sides are covered by the standard ARAT (Abrams Reactive Armor Tile) kit.

It can be seen that the engine and transmission compartment, and the rear and front rollers are also covered with additional protection, as are the turret cheeks.

The upper and lower frontal panels of the tank are most likely also covered with Kontakt-1 dynamic protection units.

Previously, Militarnyi has already described in detail the evolution of the protection of Ukrainian Abrams tanks, including the new method of installing grills and Soviet-era dynamic protection.

In addition, the combat path of the first American-made tanks on the fields of the Russian-Ukrainian war was described.

At the end of May, it was reported that Ukrainian M1A1 tanks were firing on the Avdiivka Coke Plant.

It was possible to estimate the charger’s speed, which averages 9.4 seconds.
