Thanks to Luxembourg and Denmark’s contributions to the IT Coalition, Ukraine received network equipment and auxiliary licenses worth over €2 million.

The Ministry of Defense reported that this equipment will strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Defense’s data centers and the Armed Forces cyber defense.

According to Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Transformations, Digital Development and Digitalization, the new batch of equipment will improve the protection of Ukrainian networks and facilitate the implementation of a number of information systems, which is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Defense.

In May, an IT Coalition led by Estonia and Luxembourg transferred the first batch of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It included laptops, monitors, and other communication equipment worth €900,000. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency made it possible to quickly procure the necessary equipment.

This equipment improved communication and the ability to plan tasks at the tactical level.

The Ministry of Defense reported that in total, the IT Coalition has already donated over €5 million in aid to build the IT infrastructure of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

This was done with contributions from the United Kingdom, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, and Luxembourg, and bilateral assistance from Canada.

In late May, it was reported that the IT Coalition had raised €58 million to support Ukraine.

The IT Coalition is a group of states that has joined forces within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), led by Estonia and Luxembourg.

Other members of the initiative include Belgium, the UK, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, and Japan.

This group is focused on providing support to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces in the areas of IT, communications, and cybersecurity.
