Israel has launched its latest Ofek-19 military reconnaissance satellite.

Reuters reported on this, citing the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The launch took place on September 2 from an undisclosed location – in line with the customary practice of keeping such operations classified.

The state-owned company Israel Aerospace Industries developed the Ofek-19 satellite.

The satellite is equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system, which enables high-precision observation of the Earth’s surface, regardless of weather conditions or time of day.

After reaching orbit, the satellite will undergo a series of tests to verify its technical functionality and operational capabilities. This is a standard procedure for new strategic assets.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense does not disclose details regarding the specific tasks of the satellite but emphasizes its “enhanced capabilities,” indicating expanded functionality compared to previous models.
